Ligon Outdoor Center- Clio, mi (Free- including a scholarship for busing)
Ligon Outdoor Education Center is located in the northeast corner of Genesee County, Michigan, offers 268 acres of pristine nature, over six miles of hiking trails, and a multitude of educational opportunities for students and teachers. Donated to the Genesee Intermediate School District by James and Mary Ligon of Almont, Michigan in 1975, Ligon Outdoor Education Center boasts an ideal spot for conferences, meetings, retreats, educational field trips, and getting in touch with nature. Ligon is the perfect “out of classroom” learning environment. This facility is FREE to use. They GCEF also offers some transportation reimbursement. Sloan-Longway Museum- Flint, MI

Sloan offers many science activities for field trips. They will often offer discounted rates for Flint Schools and busing subsidies can be used when coordinating with the Whiting Auditorium or the Flint Institute of Arts. They need to be scheduled early in the year because they fill up quickly.
